8 Products You Need for the Perfect Summer Glow
Summer is so close here in NJ and you can always tell from the high volume of N.Y. tourists roaming around asking, "Where's the beach?" and the line wrapped around the block to get into DJai's. While everyone else is out rubbing themselves in baby oil to get their tan on, my sensitive skin forces me to hide in the shadows and away from the sun to avoid burning. Despite my paleness, I am determined to have some kind of "summer glow," which is why I use the following items to get the perfect summer look:
The Products:
Foundation: Your Skin But Better CC+ by It Cosmetics, $38 (link)
Primer: Illuminating Face Primer by E.L.F. Cosmetics, $10 (link)
Bronzer: HOOLA Lite Matte Bronzing Powder by Benefit Cosmetics, $29 (link)
Blush: Dandelion Brightening Baby Pink Blush by Benefit Cosmetics, $15 (link)
Mascara: Ultimate Volume Nano by Marcelle, $15 (link)
Brows: Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel by Benefit Cosmetics, $24 (link)
Lips: Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in "Birthday Suit" by Tarte, $20 (link)
Eyeshadow: Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette, $38 (link)
All these items together create my go-to summer look that gives me a nice, natural glow and also allows me to take amazing care of my skin. Notice no super-shimmery products, I'm all about looking natural and wearing makeup that feels light on my skin. The full look below:
How-To:
1. Use a makeup remover wipe to get off any excess makeup from the night before
2. Apply the E.L.F. Illuminating Primer all over your face, making sure to get underneath the jawline and by your scalp
3. Use 2 pumps of Your Skin But Better Foundation on your hand and use a damp beauty blender to cover entire face to look even and smooth
4. Open The Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette, and apply "Enlight" all over your eyelid and highlight brow bone to create a light shimmer
5. Blend "Silk Cream" and "M.F.E.O." into crease to create a natural matte glow
6. Dab "Obsessed" gently in the center of the lid and use smudge brush to line underneath your lower-lash line
7. Apply Marcelle Nano mascara lightly on upper and lower lashes
8. Use 2 dips of Gimme Brow+ to spruce up brows and form to your preferred shape
9. Gently brush over jawline, cheekbones and upper temple-area with HOOLA Lite and blend with beauty blender for subtle contour
10. Gently brush Dandelion Blush above cheekbones
11. Swipe "Birthday Suit" over lips (add "Sissy" from Jaclyn Hill palette to create a subtle shimmer if desired dabbed with finger)
This whole looks takes me about 10-15 minutes to complete since it really doesn't use many products that require time-consuming actions like falsies or something. The best part is that it's easy to transition to a more shimmery look since the eye color is so neutral. Simply apply a darker shimmer color to the outer crease of your eyelid to create a smoky look or even dab a shimmer more heavily onto the center of your eyelid for glam.
