It's Not All Doom & Gloom

Thursday, May 31, 2018

Tonight Peter and I decided to have ourselves a fun little night out. Since our work schedules can get hectic, we try to make as much time for ourselves as possible to spend with each other. Sometimes we get busy, but it's always nice to know that we both are happy to make time for one another when we really need it most. There are times when I am having a super difficult week and just really need to spend some time with someone I love.

After very little debate, we unanimously agreed to go to one of our favorite spots Loteria in Asbury Park. Naturally we ate our weight in queso and delicious burritos and enchiladas. I had the enchilada special that had rojo sauce to die for (pictured below).

Tonight's look was casual, but cute. I had been pining for this wicker basket for weeks and finally waited for the perfect sale to strike and purchase it. The jeans were such an excellent steal from Target and are so versatile. I debated on wearing them cropped vs. fully untucked - as I do pretty much every time I wear them. Summer style is probably my second-favorite to fall style, but I find any reason I can to wear an adorable off-the-shoulder top and affordable heels.

25 & Married

Monday, May 28, 2018

As I mentioned in my introductory post, this past February I married the most amazing man in the world - my husband Peter. Our story is simple, yet sweet and I figured to share a little more of my life, I'll take you inside of our special day.

How We Met

A mutual friend had introduced us and we hit it off immediately. I had moved out to PA for a little while and Pete would come visit me despite the 3-hour drive. After a month, he finally asked me to be his girlfriend and it was beautiful bliss ever since. In December of 2016, Pete had asked me to marry him with a romantic proposal in Asbury Park, NJ at Convention Hall.

Our Wedding Day

We hit the ground running with planning and elected to have our wedding at the Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune, NJ. There was delicious food, dancing and lots of love. Every detail was so perfectly done and the day was just so beautiful, I wish I could continuously relive it. Check out some pics from our day below! I'd really like to thank Kelly from Kelly Sea Images for capturing the images from this day, Michael Romeo Creations for video and Kelly from Gifted Events for the seamless event coordination and support. Mainly, I thank my family, friends and amazing husband for their unconditional love and for sharing in our special day.

Our Vision

For the wedding, we had some specifics that absolutely HAD to happen. We both agreed to splurge on a great photographer, amazing DJ and delicious food. When it came to looking for a photographer, I really wanted someone to capture natural light effortlessly with a romantic, airy vibe - enter Kelly! Kelly and Ray were both the absolute best and a total dream to work with. Kelly captured some really amazing shots that we are so lucky to treasure forever. I'd highly recommend working with her again, so much that we already scheduled her to do family portraits this summer.

For our first look, we knew having our dog Remy there would make the moment even more special.

Since we didn't have any young kids to be part of our wedding party for ring bearer or flower girl, we enlisted my 26-year-old cousin to be our "Flower Man."

Cake from Chocolate Carousel, with chocolate cake and sea salt caramel drizzle. We incorporated our love for the beach with the sea salt caramel and of course our cake topper included our pup.

When it came to music, we immediately knew our guy was Jeff - we literally did not talk to anyone else other than him. Jeff and SCE were so awesome with their totally professional staff. Everyone was dancing
